He is a resident of Chicago's north shore with his wife of thirty years and their two children. In his personal time, he is a singer, songwriter musician and an avid outdoorsman. In 2015 he co-founded the not-for-profit organization Making Life Better which promotes volunteerism and contributes substantial financial support to local food pantries, community programs including Boys Hope-Girls Hope of Chicago.
